COMMENTS
Excellent boat. Goes like a dart.(No. Not THE dart). Has all the sail controls of a much larger yacht. For the cruising weekend there are rod holders, transom step and rope ladder. The cabin is clean, light, mould-free and recently refurbished. Two burner stove and deep built in chest freezer make meal preparation easy. Plenty of leg room in all four berths and you dont need to be a limbo dancer to access the quarter berths.
The outboard operates through the transom. No ugly motor dangling over the back. At 8hp there's plenty of power to bring you back to harbour when the wind drops and the engine itself is as new, having done only about 20 hours.
Hey Jude is a fast, safe, comfortable craft registered to April 2015 and insured to June 2015. The design notes (available) claim it is self righting and unsinkable (neither features tested in my experience). It's joked these boats can be launched on a dewy lawn, but 300mls of water is enough. Launching and recovery made easy by an excellent Tinka trailer and electric power winch. Mast easily raised by 2 people (there's a laminated instruction card for this). When I solo sail I use a self-designed rig for mast raising and lowering. (Not pretty but highly effective. Available free if required).
Not long after we bought Jude my wife broke her hip. We've recently decided to buy a bigger boat on a more easily accessible permanent mooring. And that's the sole reason for parting with a beaut boat.
